COUNDON & LEEHOME YOUTH FC 2 V 1 SHERBURN VILLAGE WMC FC
Coundon were looking a little tired after a busy fixture list and
winning the league. Sherburn put pressure on Coundon and took the lead with a
goal from Nicholas Marley. Coundon broke away attacking a ball on the edge of
the box when the Sherburn keeper caught the ball outside the box resulting in a
red card. Sherburn were still playing well with ten men and were still leading
at half time. Coundon eventually equalised with a goal from Kurt Mathews. It
looked like the game was going to finish even when Ben Collinson scored for
Coundon in the last minute giving them a 2-1 victory.
EBCHESTER CONSETT RESERVES 2 V 6 WALLSEND TOWN
Ebchester welcomed Wallsend to Belle Vue on a wet and windy Monday
night. Both teams started the game brightly with several chances in the first
half hour for both teams. It was Wallsend however who took the lead with a goal
from Derek Graham, however Ebchester equalised shortly after through Stephen
Agnew to make the score 1.1. As half time approached Wallsend were given the
opportunity to regain their lead from the penalty spot, with Connor Brown coolly
slotting it away. Wallsend made it 3.1 going into half time with Paul Smith
slotting away the third. The second half continued in the same vein with
chances for both teams, it was Wallsend though who were the more clinical and
both Paul Smith and Derek Graham bagged their second of the night, with Paul
Bell also scoring Wallsend's second from the spot. Marc Longstaff scored
Ebchester's second to make the final score 6.2.
