CLEM SMITH BOWL FINAL
COUNDON & LEEHOME YOUTH FC 3 V 0 WALLSEND TOWN
Coundon took the first trophy of the season with a 3-0 victory over
Wallsend Town in the final of the Clem Smith Bowl at Chester Moor. In a fast
and furious encounter between two of the favourites for the League title Coundon
looked to be take the early advantage. Wallsend were putting in some hard
tackles but Coundon took the lead with a goal from Mark Wood. Coundon continued
to pressure Wallsend and were awarded a penalty. Ian Maddison took the spot
kick and scored a good second goal for Coundon giving Coundon a 2-0 lead at
half time. Coundon continued to play well without their usual strikers who were
unavailable. Ben Collison played well as a striker and scored a third goal for
Coundon which gave them a 3-0 victory.
