LEAGUE CHALLENGE CUP FINAL

HORSLEY HILL FC 1 V 0 COUNDON & LEEHOLME YOUTH FC
The leagues winners, Coundon and runners up Horsley Hill, came head to head in today's final. The spectacle was much anticipated and didn't disappoint. It was Hills passing and moving game which was evident in the first half and they spurned a number of guilt edge chances. The second half saw a determined Coundon side trying to add to their league success. However, no matter what Coundon threw at the young Hill side, with an average age of 21, they responded.
With the clock approaching 90mins the game looked to be going into extra time. However, the Hills Centre Forward, Levi Collins had other ideas and produced an outstanding piece of magic. Picking the ball up on Coundons 18yrd box he glided past three players before coolly slotting home. The goal so late in the game, brought the Coundon players to their knees but brought the Hills, players, bench and supporters into a celebratory frenzy. With seconds remaining on the clock the Hill kept possession to run down the clock to claim victory. The experienced Coundon side contributed greatly to a fantastic cup final, which was a credit to the league. Both sides would like to thank the Leagues and match officials for presenting this final. Special thanks go to Brandons committee for working hard getting the pitch into perfect condition, when only hours previously looked unplayable due to heavy rain.
