SATURDAY JANUARY 17TH 2015

BISHOP AUCKLAND RESERVES 2 V 3 WHEATLEY HILL WMC FC
Today saw a more than feisty encounter between these two teams. With strong challenges from the start. The home side took the lead after a well struck free kick from Bobby Gibson was tipped onto the bar for Liam Bain to tidy up from close range. The first half remained close and half time ended at 1-0. The second half the temperament from both teams increased and became even more so when an equalizer came Wheatley Hills way via a possible hand ball, this was still well taken by Wheatley Hill and soon they added to their tally to take the lead and then again to make it 3-1. There was a late rally from Bishop as a sharp quick strike from Lewis Dunn eventually crossed the line after the keeper got a touch. The visiting team's MOM was easily the goal keeper after some quality saves kept Bishop at bay. Strong team performance from Bishop today however it was a disappointing day as the officials never seemed in control of the game which over 90 mins only got worse. We look forward to the Cup game with Wheatley Hill next week and aim to reverse the score line.
