SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH 2014


SHILDON RESERVES 0 V 5 SHERBURN VILLAGE WMC FC

Sherburn ran out 5 0 winners against a lacklustre Shildon reserves. Goals from Hudspeth Jackson Hutchinson and 2 for Gary Dodds gave the away team all 3 points. The visitors were in command for most of the game and could have had more of it wasn't for Philip Parker in goal for Shildon.

SEDGEFIELD NETPark 2 v 0 BISHOP AUCKLAND RESERVES

An entertaining game with Bishop starting the better of the two teams. A few chances for both teams before Jonathan Taylor scored with a header from a Jack Marley corner. Netpark then started to play better but not many chances before ht, h/t 1-0. Second half and again pretty even, on 55mins a great move was brilliantly finished by Brian Fairhurst 2-0. Both teams had chances to score, Bishop had a great change after 80mins but Matt Smith pulled off a great save. Netpark held out for the 3pts. F/T 2-0

COUNDON & LEEHOLME YOUTH FC 5 V 0 HARTLEPOOL FC RESERVES

Coundon got off to good start with Mark Wood scoring after twelve minutes. Both teams were playing some good attacking football when Mark Wood scored his second goal after twenty one minutes. Ben Collinson scored Coundons third goal after thirty two minutes. A super save from the Hartlepool keeper prevented Coundon from increasing their lead. Another goal after forty six minutes gave Mark Wood his hat trick. The second half was not as entertaining as the first half with another goal near the end of the game from Ben Collinson gave Coundon a 5-0 win

CHESTER-LE-STREET WHITEHILL FC 2 V 3 WALLSEND TOWN

Whitehill lost out by the odd goal in five with a 3-2 defeat at home to Wallsend.
In a close first half Whitehill pressed early on in the game, but it were the visitors who took the lead on 16 mins when Gavin Jones sent the ball into the box and it sailed over Jack Taylor in the Whitehill goal for 0-1. Whitehill got back on level terms on 25 mins when Jamie Kelly was brought down in the box and Matty Smith stepped up to make it 1-1 from the penalty spot.  Jamie Kelly then hit a thunderous shot that struck the bar on the half hour mark, but just before half time, a Tommy Wray through ball was met by Stephen Wood who fired in to put Whitehill 2-1 up. H.T. 2-1 The second half saw Whitehill play some poor football and the visitors took advantage of it scoring twice in 6 mins. The equaliser came when Paul Bell hit a great overhead kick to score the goal of the game, and on 56 mins he forced the ball over the line following a corner kick for 2-3. Both teams created half chances but Whitehill’s continued poor performance helped Wallsend see out the game and take the three points.

EBCHESTER CONSETT RESERVES 6 V 1 FERRYHILL TOWN

Ebchester started the better team and were playing some good football. It didn't take them long to take the lead through Dan Parker, he timed his run perfectly to break the offside trap and finished well. Ebchester kept going and were having most of the play. It was 2-0 soon after through Stephen Agnew. Within 30 minutes Ebchester were 3-0 up, a good finish from Dan Reed who put the ball into the top corner. Ferryhill came back into the game before half time and gained a goal from a bit of pressure, a good ball in and their forward flicked the ball over the top of the keeper. Half Time 3-1. The second half was very much the same, Ebchester having the play and creating lots of chances. They got the fourth through Dan Reed, a good ball in and he volleyed the ball home. Ebchester's fifth came from Dan Parker, Ebchester playing some nice stuff down the left before Parker fired it home. The final goal of the game came courtesy of Stephen Agnew; he got the ball down the right and unleashed a thunderbolt into the bottom corner. Ebchester running out well deserved winners 6-1.

BIRTLEY FC 1 V 8 HYLTON SC

Sunderland Hylton started the brightest and scored after just 8 mins and then doubled their lead after 22 mins. Birtley FC then got control of the game and seemed to settle down and pulled one back through Thomas Illingworth 0n 38 mins. Second half was a good battle but Sunderland Hylton made it 3-1 on 50 mins. Birtley FC and Sunderland Hylton both created chances but Sunderland Hylton ran out deserved winner adding goals on the 60', 68', 72', 75', 90', to run out winners by 8-1. Birtley FC also missed a penalty in the second half.
